Importance of Heavy Earthmoving Machines in Construction Industry



Today, heavy machines and equipment have become an essential part to complete targeted tasks in an easy and efficient way. In the current scenario, heavy and large machines such as bulldozer, hydraulic cranes, excavators, earthmovers, compactors, etc. are widely required in constructing big structures.

The machines are used in aerospace, material and storage handling, construction, oil, and gas processing, and so on to ensure project completion in a given deadline. In the construction industry, there are many types of heavy equipment available used for both large as well as small scale purposes.

Generally, most equipment is equipped with cutting-edge technology used for road construction, underwater and other marine construction work, etc. to handle complicated tasks. Here are the most commonly used heavy machines and their applications in construction projects:

1. Bulldozer: A bulldozer has two additional parts: a blade and a ripper. It has a substantial metal plate in the front that can be moved up, down fitted to push large amounts of soil, sand, dirt, including other materials in large and open construction sites. Due to their strong features, the bulldozers can also be used for grading, crushing, or removing rocks. etc.

2. Excavators: Excavators consist of a base cabin, long arm with a bucket attached at the end to handle various types of construction jobs. The operator carefully controls the excavator from the base cabin that can be rotated 3600 smoothly. This equipment is needed to accomplish applications such as excavation, demolition, heavy lifting, and more.

3. Backhoe Loaders: Backhoe Loaders or backhoes are tire mounted mountain that serves a lot of purpose in terms of applications and work features. The machine is consists of a shovel at the front and a bucket attached to a jointed arm at the rear end which makes it ideal to be used in urban areas. Backhoe Loaders are medium-sized machines used for setting up the buildings, excavation works, laying the huge pipes, and a lot more.

4. Graders: The grader is used in construction especially the construction of roads. It is also called motor graders used to level the soil surface. Graders contain a horizontal blade in between the front and rear wheels. The graders come in different sizes and shapes used to remove snow or dirt from the roads, flatten the surface of the soil before laying asphalt layer, and to remove unnecessary soil layer from the ground, etc.

5. Compactors: Compactors or rollers is mainly used to compact the material or the earth’s surface. The various compactors available are used for compacting shallow layers of soil or asphalt, for deep compaction purposes and for compacting fine-grained soils, asphalt layers, etc.

6. Pile Boring Equipment: The pile boring equipment is usually employed for pile driving construction. It is specifically designed to make boreholes in the construction sites to install precast piles carefully.

Railway Construction work

Railway construction and repairs of wear and tear of tracks, setup of new railway lines etc. for easy transportation and access to passengers over the huge network requires smooth operation.
We have executed several Railway projects over the years with smooth dozer operation and working. Ballast levelling, the even distribution or removal of ballast from beneath railroad tracks. The track rail liners lift a stretch of track so the dozer can quickly run the rake blade beneath it to level the ballast underneath. While the track is lifted, work crews can easily inspect the elevated ties and replace any that is worn.
Switching to and from the rake configuration is fast and easy; the rake blade can be removed from the dozer in approximately 15 minutes which means that the dozer can be converted back to its normal configuration for other maintenance-of-way tasks with very little downtime.
